My Biggest Regret...
If you aren't learning something new every single day from your clients, prospects, co-workers and everyone else around you, you're either not paying attention or in the wrong field.
This week I've primarily focused my efforts on my career coaching clients including people who want to change career in the face of fatal flaws and deep accumulated career disadvantages as well as victims of dirty office politics / fierce & ferocious office politics (really, is there any other kind?).
The best thing I've gleaned from a client this week was this particularly powerful and poignant comment:
"My biggest regret is that I wish that I had understood how careers work when I was younger, so that I could have built a career skill set where I could easily say I am a ____, with all the usual qualifications that accompany that career."
This happens to far too many people. Don't let this be you.
And if it is you, be like this person and find the right person to help you fix it -- it's always fixable with the right assistance coupled with a can-do, reality-based worldview on your part.
